About

A family name, a family project

If you are wondering what TATIDA means, it is actually our names put together: Tanit, Tina, and Daniel. We are a family living in Coimbra, Portugal, and this little project of ours started the way most good things do, around the kitchen table, throwing ideas back and forth until one of them stuck.

How it started

We knew we wanted to create something together, but it took a while to figure out what that something would be. At some point, the idea of tiny hidden animals came up, a kind of treasure hunt that could work anywhere, at home, in the garden, at a birthday party. It sounded fun, so we gave it a try.

The first set we made was the ducks. We put them out there not really knowing what to expect, and then we started seeing how people were actually using them. Kids crawling under tables, parents sneaking figures into bookshelves when nobody was looking, families turning a rainy afternoon into a whole adventure. That was the moment we realized this was worth pursuing, so we kept at it. Bunnies followed, then turtles, and we have plenty more ideas waiting in the wings.

What we care about

Every product is designed and made in our workshop here in Coimbra. We are a small operation, just the three of us, and we like it that way. It means we get to be involved in every detail, from how the figures feel in your hand to how the bag looks when you give it as a gift.

What matters most to us is that moment when a TATIDA game turns a regular day into something a little more special. The kind of thing where everyone ends up playing, whether they planned to or not.
